My Kind Of Trail Mix

If you used to pick out the m&m’s out of every trail mix bag you’ve ever gotten, please raise your hand.

As I grew up, my taste buds have refined (slightly) and I fell in love with this Biggest Loser version of trail mix. Its got WAY less calories than normal trail mix (as much as healthy fats are good for you, they can pack on a lot of calories) and I love the dried fruit in it!
Yay for dried fruit that ain’t always raisins! #holla
Don’t get me wrong, the classic trail mix is good fuel if you are actually hiking up the side of a very steep mountain. And if you’re burning 192874873678 calories on that hike.
But most people don’t do that everyday. Well, I don’t at least and I’m basing everything on my personal life experience (obvssss).
So if you’re a normal human and just want to munch on something healthified, munch on these.
Recipe from The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook 

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups air popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup high fiber, low sugar cereal squares (I used Quaker oatmeal squares)
  • 1/2 cup red dried fruit (I used cran-strawberries from Winco)
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Place 1 cup of popcorn, 2 tablespoons of cereal, 2 tablespoons of dried fruit and 1/2 tablespoon chocolate chips into a sandwich bag
  • Shake each bag to distribute the ingredients evenly and seal
  • Store bags in an airtight container for up to 3 days
